Autism Camp 2010
7th Annual Autism Camp
Camp Takoda is dedicated to providing a valuable experience for children on the autism spectrum in a natural outdoor setting on Lake Bloomington.Children have the opportunity to engage in typical camp activities, including, canoeing, swimming, horseback riding, games, and much more in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Junior Counselors will be an important part of this year’s camp. The Counselors will receive training on interacting with campers, facilitating communication and positive encouragement. Junior counselors are carefully screened to ensure that they have what it takes to provide natural peer support throughout camp. At camp Takoda we have a high counselor-to-camper ratio to ensure that all campers are safe and positively encouraged to participate in each activity offered.
Our goal is to always provide a comfortable and motivating environment that will help each camper develop their individual abilities with an emphasis on building self-confidence, social skills, and independence... All in a fun setting!
The past 6 years have been awesome and I expect nothing less this year!
*All campers must have a current physical to attend (physical valid if completed within 12 months before camp)! Forms must be provided before camp.
