Autism Sibling Camp 2011
1st Annual Autism Sibling Camp
New for 2011, the Autism Society of McLean County (ASMC) is pleased to introduce Camp Pathfinder. Our new camp is geared specifically to Siblings of people living with Autism. The camp will be at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center (TPOC) and run in parallel with our Takoda Day Camp.
The goal of this camp is to provide opportunities for our siblings to experience the majesty of TPOC and be recognized for their care and support of their siblings. Having a sibling with a special needs creates a unique relationship. I would describe my daughter as the one who helps her brother by blazing a trail, showing him the obstacles and helping him overcome. She is a pathfinder for her brother.
In that spirit, we present Camp Pathfinder for 2011. Camp will consist of:
-
Canoeing
-
Swimming
-
Hiking
-
High and Low Ropes Course
-
Zip line
-
Confidence Building
-
Friendship
-
Horses
-
Target Sports
This will be a day camp and will not interfere with our Takoda Campers. We are focused on providing an experience that will be special for our Pathfinders and leave them with a sense of accomplishment and confidence.
Camp is open to siblings 6 years and older, a valid physical is required and cost is $175 if purchased with a TAKODA camp experience.
Camp Dates: June 13-17, 2011
